On the occasion of National Youth Day which is also the 153rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, National Service Scheme (NSS) JNU in collaboration with Vivekananda Study Circle (VSC) jointly conducted a panel discussion- ‘IDEA OF ACCEPTANCE’ on 12 January 2016. Professor Birendra Nath Mallick from School of Life Sciences(SLS) discussed his ideas of ‘acceptance’. According to him, “between acceptance and rejection comes tolerance and indifference”. He hailed Swami Vivekananda as an epitome of ‘acceptance’; many factors governing ‘acceptance’ were recounted, thereby establishing the vital role he still plays in contemporary world.
Professor Divyanandaprana hailing from Ramakrishna Sarada Mission spoke about the idea of religious and psychological ‘acceptance’ and its significance in the present context. She also spoke about the essence of all religions being spirituality. While emphasizing upon Intellectual Quotient (IQ), Emotional Quotient (EQ) AND Spiritual Quotient (SQ) she mentioned how logo therapy is also increasingly being used to increase memory power in universities abroad.
