14 May 2016: Following orders from Justice Manmohan of the SC, who had asked the students to end the hunger strike, in response to the writ petitions submitted by the same, the student’s body has decided to end the hunger strike. The hunger strike ended yesterday; however the issue regarding HLEC decision to punish students involved in 9 February incident has not been resolved yet.
It has been decided that the matter being sub judice, be taken up for hearing by the VC. The court has also made it clear that sufficient time must be given for the HLEC decisions to take effect, if the students appeal is denied so that they have time to take to the High Court for justice.
The SC reproached the administration for not taking immediate action to resolve the matter. While, it also asked media persons to not disturb the campus environs.
An all-organizations meeting was called yesterday at Teflas at 5:30 PM to discuss the future course of action, the decisions of which are to be made public soon.
